Barrow Hedges Primary School

Remote Education

In this section...

The health and safety of the Barrow Hedges community is paramount and therefore there may be instances where children, although well in themselves, have to remain at home due to their family being in isolation. Similarly, children may need to remain at home due to a bubble closure or because of national or local lockdown.

Therefore, please find below our Remote Education Plan which sets out our provision for learning at home  under different scenarios.

The Year Group tabs are where cohort specific learning activities are kept, as referred to in our Remote Education Plan. Aside from Nursery, who should access this each day, the other year groups' work here is predominantly a back-up for day 1 of an isolation period.

It is important that children's minds are kept active and that education is of high priority. Any time at home should be spent productively so that children remain in the routine of learning.

Please always remember that reading is one of the most valuable activities. Your child can never do too much reading! At Barrow Hedges we use Bug Club so this is a great resource to refer to. Your child should also have access to a range of books at home so we would encourage you to foster a love of reading in your child.

It is important to note that if it is your child who is unwell then they should not be given work to do. Rest and recouperation is a priority, with some reading if they feel up to it!  If they are fit and well, but are still needing to isolate at home, then they should access the work, starting at day 1 for each subject.
